The Evolutions of TKFArchitects.com

In 2020 tkfarchitects.com was out of date and lacked a clear branding focus.

The website featured seven different pages. While this may not seem like a lot of pages it made the website feel overwhelming and distracting to users. The old site also lacked information on Teitsch-Kent-Fay Architects, P.C. projects and work. One of the major faults with the old website was that it failed to showcase many of the services that we pride ourselves on providing for clients.

To remedy this, we brought on Julia Fay, our marketing specialist, to redesign the website. To address the branding issue the Teitsch-Kent-Fay Architects, P.C. team chose fonts and colors that would be consistent across not only the new website but further marketing efforts. From there it was most important to make the website both visually appealing and easy to use, while simultaneously providing more information about who we are and what we do.

To give clients a better idea of who Teitsch-Kent-Fay Architect, P.C. is, Julia redesigned the “About” page on our website. The previous page had information about the firm’s history, Brian and Dan’s name and title, and an article about our Architectural Process. While this may seem fine, it was missing our other employees, as well as contact information for each employee. In the redesign of this page Julia moved the history of the firm and architectural process article to a new “Articles” section of the website. She also added each employee's photo, title, email, and phone extension, to make it easier for clients to get in touch with the correct team member.

You may remember the “News” page from our old website. This was a collection of alerts about things happening that had to do with Teitsch-Kent-Fay Architects, P.C.. Content on this page ranged from things like new employees joining the team, graduations of schools we had worked on, project updates, and more. This page was a little chaotic with different fonts and colors. With Julia’s advice we removed this page from our website in favor of creating new social media pages to present this information on. By putting this information on other platforms rather than our website we can focus on creating a space where people can go to learn more about what we do as a firm rather than be distracted by extra information.

The primary issue with the old “Markets” page was that it only provided photos for each project that we completed. While photos are an important piece to showing off a project, the new website includes details of what was completed, when the project was completed, and more. This information helps people who are looking to work with us get more information on what we have done in the past and how we can best help them, before even talking with someone from our team.

As previously discussed the major problem with our “Renderings” page is that it failed to showcase the other services we offer. Our new page, “Services,” gives details about how we can help you with architectural design, building condition surveys, building inspections, feasibility/schematic design, opinion of probable cost, in addition to rendering. This new page gives clients a better idea of what each of these services entails so that they can see how we can best help them.

You may have noticed we don’t have a Contact page on our website anymore. This is because we moved this information from being its own separate page to being on the footer of our website. The advantage to this change is that rather than clients having to specifically go to the contact page, they can now contact us from any page on our website.
Lastly, the newest addition to our website was our “articles” page. This page is where all of our newsletter articles live so that clients can learn and get even more information on what we do. This section has been divided into Industry Related, Project Related, and Company Culture. By dividing the articles into these topics we hope that clients will have an easier time finding information. By having this section on our website we are able to make sure that the other pages on our website are concise with only necessary information, and link to articles that may go more into depth on that topic.
