Summer Construction 2021

Teitsch-Kent-Fay Architects, P.C. has been busy this summer with several projects under construction. Unlike Summer 2020 (during lockdown) we have been able to make more “in-person” visits and construction meetings.

Schools are always exciting construction projects, as it is vital to gear up before the students leave, and obviously of paramount importance to be complete before school begins in the fall.

Sharon Springs Central School completed their Capital Outlay Project early in the summer with reconstruction of the ISS room and upgrades to the Library flooring. In particular, the new carpet tiles in the library look fantastic, and really activate the space much more than the original broadloom did, additionally, the diagonal pattern emphasises the angled walls of the addition we designed almost 20 years ago.

New York Mills Union Free School has had a busy summer with their Capital Outlay Project completed in June, this consisted of the installation of “touchless faucets” for the student occupied toilet rooms, and some security upgrades. The bulk of the work at New York Mills has been on their Capital Improvements Project which began construction in June, and recently completed the installation of their new Playground in time for opening day! This beautiful facility can be viewed at both our website, as well as the District’s Facebook page. A formal ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for September 20, 2021 (however, the students have been able to play on it since the first day of school). Work will continue on the other elements of the project into the Fall, updates to follow.

In addition to School Projects, we have been working with a number of other clients on their projects! These include:

St. Ann’s Church, Manlius has been working on their new Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. This will be located in the former Daily Mass Chapel, and involve a focal ceiling design, emphasizing the Altar of Repose. The Diocese Construction Team began work on this project in August and is scheduled to be completed during September.

Divine Mercy Parish, Central Square has been preparing for the construction of their new front entry improvements, while not specifically “summer construction” the Diocese Construction Team is lining up for this work to be completed as soon as schedules (and delivery of materials) will permit.

Village of Hamilton, Village Offices began the reconstruction project of their historic office building in late June and are scheduled to be complete this Fall. This work will improve circulation and support spaces throughout the facility, and improve security and social distancing for both visitors, and Village workers.

Anaren, a TTM Company continue working on their multi-phase improvements project. This work includes upgrades to the entry / reception area, cafeteria improvements, and upgrades to the production areas. This project is scheduled to continue through the Fall.
