Road To Emmaus Ministry's New Addition
This project was immensely fulfilling as we know the amazing services that Emmaus will be providing using the new spaces
In 2022, the Executive Director at Road to Emmaus Ministries, Sheila Austin, called Dan Fay asking him to assist in designing a new addition for the nonprofit. The existing space was too small to accommodate the large number of clients that benefit from this ministry. Our team has worked with Emmaus many times and were eager to design a solution to their problem. The finished design included an expanded program room, administrative/support spaces, and a newly designed lower level.
Before construction could begin on this project the designs had to be approved by the City of Syracuse. Luckily in the fall of 2023 the city approved our designs and work was able to begin at Emmaus. Construction began late in October 2023 which meant everyone involved had to work at a brisk pace to make sure the foundations were completed before the winter weather closed in.
The new space was finally completed in March 2024. Our team recently went to visit Road to Emmaus Ministry in late May and were pleased to see that everything looks amazing. The new lower level offers the staff expansive storage space as well as easy accessibility. The new expanded program room more than doubles the space available for Emmaus to feed their clients. Also included are fully accessible toilet rooms for the program space and support spaces, as well as a new stair to access the lower level. The new administrative/support spaces offer privacy for those using them. These spaces can be used by staff members and outside program persons to meet with clients and assist with the many services provided by Emmaus.
This project, as all of our projects with Road to Emmaus Ministries, was immensely fulfilling as we know the amazing services that Emmaus will be providing using the new spaces. We are grateful to have helped them in bettering the community and look forward to our next opportunity to work with them.
