One of the bright spots for us here at Teitsch-Kent-Fay is a resurgence of Residential Projects. Since our firm was founded in the middle 1960’s, we have always designed projects for residential clients, however, there has never been an “active” marketing push for this type of work. However, as quarantine began and people were forced to spend more time in their houses they started to realize numerous changes they wanted to make to their homes. In the last couple of years, the residential market has surged for us, and we have been fortunate to assist a number of families with a variety of different kinds of residential projects.
These projects have included:
Minor renovations to create home office / workspaces
Modifications to residential spaces to enlarge living quarters, or make them more comfortable.
Additions / Conversion to allow for “In-Law Apartments”
Entirely new residential buildings / complexes
Since the pandemic began, the construction market has been a bit of a wild ride, and the uncertainty of the economy has caused some projects to be delayed. In our experience, however, residential work has flourished, and turned out to be a real positive surprise.
We continue to follow the construction material costs, and delivery issues closely in order to help advise all our clients. This is particularly important for our residential clients, when it comes to making the best choices regarding schedule, material selection, and construction system types.
As 2022 begins, we continue to be impressed, inspired and excited to help each of our residential clients with their projects, and look forward to seeing the vision of each come true.
