To serve expanding client needs, the library addition increased both stack space and reading areas, as well as including a community room with a separate entrance and a Story Hour Room, proportioned for the size of young children. A new circulation desk was installed, along with a more expansive staff work room.

The existing, renovated building contains periodical, genealogical, reference and local history sections, adult stacks and reading area, and an integrated display space for the museum. Museum displays were moved downstairs into built-in casework for easy accessibility.

The Hamilton Public Library Addition and Alteration project, designed by Teitsch-Kent-Fay Architects P.C., combines the best of the library’s heritage with a state-of-the-art facility for the present and the future. The new elevation is designed to complement the existing historic building and harmonize with the village central green. The addition, restricted to a confined lot adjacent to the village offices, enabled the entire facility to be A.D.A compliant.
